The students of iGEM TokyoTech will use the campaign funds to implement a project that aims to solve societal issues with the help of synthetic biology, an area that offers new possibilities for creative solutions. The team will present the results of their project at iGEM 2024, where they aim to win the Grand Prize.

This will be the last time for the Institute's students to join iGEM as Team Tokyo Tech before the merger with Tokyo Medical and Dental University later this year. Visit the campaign website now to support iGEM TokyoTech as they aim for one final victory!

What is iGEM?

The iGEM competition, which began as a study course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2003, has grown into an international contest involving tens of thousands of students across the world at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate level. During the contest, multidisciplinary student teams design, build, and test projects using cutting-edge synthetic biology, an approach used in designing new biological systems. Each team presents their results to a panel of judges.

Throughout the years, Team Tokyo Tech has achieved outstanding results at the iGEM competition.
