  • When does the application guide become available?

    For programs commencing in April: Mid-November
    For Programs commencing in October: Mid-May

  • When are the entrance examinations held?

    For programs commencing in April: Mid to late February
    For programs commencing in October: Mid to late August

  • What is preliminary screening?

    Preliminary screening is a screening process required for applicants who do not have a master's degree or a professional degree but have at least two years of research experience at a corporation, research institution, or other organization.
    Those who have (or will have) a master's degree or a professional degree do not need to apply for preliminary screening. For details, please contact the Admission Division.

  • Where are the entrance examinations held?

    The examinations are held either at the Ookayama Campus or the Suzukakedai Campus depending on the department.

  • Do I need to submit external test scores (TOEFL-iBT, TOEFL-PBT, TOEIC)?

    It depends on the department. However, the number of departments that require external test scores in place of written exams for foreign language (English) has been increasing. If you are planning to apply for a doctoral degree program, we recommend that you obtain these test scores in time for making your application as there have been applications that were not accepted due to missing test scores.

  • When does the application guide become available?

    The application guide will become available in mid-May.

  • When are the entrance examinations held?

    Mid to late August.

  • What is preliminary screening?

    For master's degree programs, preliminary screening is required only for those who wish to enter a master's program after completing the first three years of a bachelor's degree program (often called "early admission").
    Those who have (or will have) a bachelor's degree or completed 16 years of schooling outside Japan or equivalent do not need to apply for preliminary screening.
    For doctoral degree programs, the screening is required for applicants who do not have a master's degree or a professional degree but have at least two years of research experience at a corporation, research institution, or other organization.
