  • When does the application guide become available? When are entrance examinations held?

  • What is the Individual Assessment of Admission Eligibility?

    Those who have not completed a master’s degree or professional master’s degree or who are not expected to do so may still be deemed eligible to apply for a doctoral degree program if they meet certain requirements. The “Individual Assessment of Admission Eligibility” is preliminary screening that determines whether the candidate meets said requirements.

    For example, those who do not possess a master's degree or a professional master’s degree but have at least two years of research experience at a corporation, research institution, or other organization will be eligible if they pass this assessment.
    Those who have completed a master's or a professional master’s degree and who are expected to do so do not need to take the assessment.

  • Where are the entrance examinations held?

    The examinations are held either at the Ookayama Campus or the Suzukakedai Campus depending on the department.

  • Do I need to submit a score sheet for an English proficiency test?

    Yes. Departments require applicants to submit test scores from the TOEFL-iBT, revised TOEFL Paper-delivered Test, TOEIC or IELTS to assess their English proficiency, although there are some exceptions.

    If you are planning to apply for a doctral degree program, be sure to take a test and submit the score sheet in a timely manner.

    There are cases where applications are rejected due to late submission of test scores.

    Note that scores obtained from institutional tests are not accepted.
