As a way of laying down the groundwork for future innovations, pushing back the intellectual frontier of innovation with a global perspective is as important as analyzing past cases. Students who enroll in the Graduate Major will be studying at an international center of excellence in innovation science where collaboration with various institutes and researchers from across the globe plays a key role in its education and research.
There are many outstanding researchers working on innovation for science and technology and innovation systems who are also involved in education at our department. By receiving research guidance from these world-class researchers, students who go on to become leading researchers at renowned schools and international organizations and furthermore, compete with and take their place among the best in the world are fostered.
Knowledge required for innovation is diverse and dynamic. Through systematic reviews, students can comprehensively study and acquire relevant cutting-edge academic knowledge from a diverse range of research areas such as those in natural science, engineering, humanities, and social science.
Innovation requires action. By conducting practical research for innovation creation in collaboration with various stakeholders outside the university, which include industries, government agencies, and international organizations, knowledge professionals capable of handling innovation are continuously being produced and sent into society.
By getting involved in things such as the various projects conducted by the academic staff, students may get the opportunity to give presentations of research achievements at international conferences. In this way, we expect every student to take the first step toward improving his or her international presence.
