Scholarship for Outstanding International Undergraduates

In April 2020, Tokyo Tech launched a new scholarship program for international undergraduates as an alternative to the enrollment fee and tuition exemption system.
This scholarship aims to support outstanding international undergraduates by providing full or half tuition fees.

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate students enrolled after April 2020 (20B and 21B only)
  • Privately funded international students who are not Japanese nationals (excluding government-sponsored students)

No restrictions on status of residence

Privately funded international students enrolled before April 2020 should apply for the "Special Tuition Reduction and Exemption Program"

Payment Period

1 year (April 2021 - March 2022)

Note: If a student's spring semester GPA is less than 3.0, the scholarship will be suspended.

Scholarship Amount

The Best Performance Award is equivalent to full tuition, and Outstanding Performance Award is equivalent to half tuition.

Postponement of Tuition Payment

  • Recipients of this scholarship will have their spring semester tuition payment postponed.
  • If you wish to apply for postponement of the enrollment fee, please contact the Student Support Division and apply by the enrollment procedure date.

Other Notes

  • There are no restrictions on those receiving other scholarships.
    However, if you are to receive any other scholarships or financial aid from April 2020, please check if the provider (private foundation, etc.) allows you to receive this scholarship.
  • If a student's spring semester GPA is less than 3.0, the scholarship will be suspended as it is intended for those with outstanding academic performance.

Application period: Thursday, April 1, 2021 to Wednesday, April 7, 2021, 4 p.m.
