How to pay tuition
Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral Students
Tuition is paid by automatic bank transfer twice a year in principle, in May for the spring semester and in November for the fall semester. Students can also choose a one-time payment in May for the entire year. Bank transfer fees are borne by Tokyo Tech. Please check the tuition transfer schedule below, and make sure that your registered account has sufficient funds to cover the tuition amount by the business day preceding the transfer date.

If the financial institution is closed on the transfer date, the amount will be debited on the next business day.

Notification of the transfer date (① above) and amount will be sent only for cases A and B (about 1 week before the transfer date).

Tuition withdrawn from your account will appear in your bankbook as “SMBC (トウコウダイ.” (Exact wording may vary depending on the bank.)

If you have requested “one payment per year” and tuition for both the spring semester and the fall semester is debited from your account on the same date, two separate transfers will be indicated in your bank book as 3) above.

In the case of payment method B, if there is insufficient balance for the total annual tuition in the registered account, only the spring semester amount will be debited on May 27, and the fall semester amount will be debited on November 27.

After the last available date for transfer (② above), the Accounting Division below will issue a payment slip, so please make payment promptly.

While enrolled at Tokyo Institute of Technology, students are requested to pay tuition by automatic transfer using a receiving agent from the student's bank account, or the student's financial supporter's (the person paying educational fees) account. Once the account is registered, your tuition will be automatically debited from the account on their due dates during your enrollment at Tokyo Tech.
Automatic tuition payment for AY 2024
Registraion for automatic tuition payment for spring semester AY 2024 closed on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
Students may now register for fall semester AY 2024.
Fall semester AY 2024 automatic tuition payment online registration deadline: Friday, October 25, 2024.
Registering on October 26 or later will set up automatic payments starting from tuition for spring semester AY 2025.

- If you wish to register an account in your company's name, you cannot do so from the web page. Please contact ahead of time the Revenue Group of the Accounting Division at the email address in the contact information.
- If you wish to stop payment by account transfer, please contact the Revenue Group, Accounting Division at least three weeks before the transfer date.
For issuance of designated payment slips, visit the following offices between 8:30-17:15 on weekdays:
Ookayama Campus: Revenue Group, Accounting Division (Centennial Hall Building, Floor 4)
Suzukakedai Campus: Suzukakedai Contract and Management Group, Suzukakedai Accounting Division (J2 Building, Floor 4)
Please bring your student ID card with you.
Research Students, Non-degree Students, and International Exchange/Visiting Students
Please pay tuition via Japan Post Bank (Post Office service desks) using designated payment slips. We will send payment slips to applicable students in April for the spring semester and in October for the fall semester. Make sure to pay by the due date below. Automatic bank transfers are not accepted.

Note: The spring semester commences on April 1 and ends on a day in the fourth or fifth week of September specified by the president of Tokyo Tech for each academic year. The fall semester commences on the day following the last day of the spring semester and ends on March 31 of the following year.
Overseas Remittance Information
If you are outside Japan and are unable to arrive in the country by the deadline, you can pay your enrollment and/or tuition fees by overseas remittance from your home country. Please refer to “Overseas Remittance Information” for details.
