Introduce the message from Tokyo Tech Alumni ambassadors.
In life, I have lived with many special memories, some painful, sad, wonderful and happy. Three years at Tokyo Tech has left me with many unforgettable memorable experiences. It is a mixture of happiness, enjoyment, hard work and struggle. I was granted full scholarship by JICA to pursue doctoral degree in Tokyo Institute of Technology from 2008 until 2011. I had been PhD student under supervision of Professor Hirotsugu Inoue, Mechanical and Control Engineering Department which has been reformed as Department of Mechanical Engineering. From him, I learnt not only new knowledge but also the sense of duty and responsibility. He was extremely busy during day time. Therefore, I always discussed with him about research problem never sooner than midnight.
Every member in Inoue sensei's lab is friendly and willing to help me overcome the language and cultural barriers when I first arrived at Japan. So I quickly adapted to life in Tokyo. Every year, I had the opportunity to visit many places nearby Tokyo through lab's trips, especially onsen at natural hot spring resort, hiking Fuji-san. These lab's trips help strengthen linkage with staff and students in the lab. The people I had the opportunity to contact such as in the Student Support Division, the canteen, Co-op ... were very friendly and warm-hearted.
About Tokyo Tech, it cannot be denied that this university has been equipped best facility for research that I have ever known. Personally, I was very impressed with Tsubame supercomputer, it can be said that the Tsubame has significantly contributed to the success of my research.
The scenery on the Tokyo Tech campus is wonderful during the four seasons of the year, especially the spring when the sakura is in full blossom. The park in front of Tokyo Tech's main building is a sakura blossom viewing spot introduced in Tokyo. Not only spring, autumn in school is also very beautiful when the ginkgo trees turn yellow throughout the entire path around the school. I always believe study abroad is not only learning knowledge but also culture. I spent my holiday or field trip to visit around Japan such as, Hakone, Sapporo, Otaru… and I also enjoy many local festivals especially in spring and summer.
I returned to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in March 2011. Currently, I am an associate professor and working as lecturer, researcher.
For newbies international student, for most I warmly congratulate you to become student of Tokyo Tech, please persevere in studying and researching day and night with all your effort and passion. Stick on your professor's guidance. Of course do not forget to travel and participate in festivals in Japan. I am sure success is waiting for you ahead.
