Accreditation of Credits (Attained Before Enrollment, During Study Abroad, etc.)

Students may request academic credits from courses taken at other institutions, or during study abroad programs while enrolled at Science Tokyo, to count toward the completion of Science Tokyo credit requirements. Learn how to apply to transfer credits below.

Students (except transfer and re-admitted students) may request credits from courses taken at other universities and junior colleges to be transferred and counted toward the completion of equivalent courses at Science Tokyo.
Applications must be submitted during the designated period.

Transfer students from 5-year technical colleges may request credits from their completed courses to be conferred toward course credits at Science Tokyo. Applications must be submitted during the enrollment process.

Students may request credits from courses completed at universities overseas to be counted toward equivalent course credits at Science Tokyo. Students who wish to apply must consult a relevant Science Tokyo faculty member prior to studying abroad and complete the required procedures after returning to Japan.

Students may request credits from courses completed at Science Tokyo’s partner universities, based on respective credit transfer agreements, to be counted toward equivalent course credits at Science Tokyo. Applications must be submitted during the designated period.

Graduate students may request credits from courses taken at other graduate school programs prior to enrolling at Science Tokyo (including credits earned as non-degree students) to count toward equivalent course credits at Science Tokyo.
Applications must be submitted during the designated period.

Approximate deadlines to submit:
Students enrolling in April: mid-April of the same year
Students enrolling in September: mid-October of the same year

Note: all applications must be reviewed and approved by the faculty meeting in charge of graduate studies. Inquire at the administrative office of the related graduate major for the meeting schedule.
