Outlines

Two types of summer schools are held.

1. HKUST Summer School (course taking)

June 15-July 10, 2026 or

July 9 - August 9, 2026

Multiple terms can be taken consecutively.

2. HKUST Summer UG Research Program (Research)

June 15-August 7, 2026

HKUST Summer School (course taking): undergraduate (B2 or above) and master's course students

HKUST Summer UG Research Program (Research): undergraduate (B3 or above)

Number of nominees

4 students for tuition waiver slots

Cost

1. Course Taking Program: Tuition HKD6,200/credit
2. Research Program: Tuition HKD18,600


The students nominated by Science Tokyo are exempted from the tuition above.

Other fees (accommodation, event, etc. Nominated students are also requested to pay other fees)

1. Course Program: HKD9,000 (4 weeks), HKD14,500 (8 weeks)
2. Research Program: HKD14,500

Scholarships

90,000yen/month(Check the application guidelines for eligibility requirements.)

Date of interview

January 16, 13:30-17:00 at Ookayama Campus

Application procedure

After applying to the Global Education Division, students are screened by Science Tokyo through an interview. Students nominated should apply to Host University by the following deadline.

In case students would like to participate paying tuition, the deadline will be different.
