International Experience Guidelines
International Experience
One of the Institute's key goals in education is to foster individuals who can contribute to the world through the power of science and technology. International experience and the ability to use English as a common language are two attributes that the Institute considers essential for such individuals. For this purpose, we set the following guidelines regarding what constitutes an international experience. Students can read the guidelines and use them when making study plans. International experience can be registered for inclusion in student learning portfolios.
Before completing the master's program, students must register the details of their international activities (studying abroad, etc.) in the "Record of International Experience/Study Abroad" section of the Tokyo Tech learning portfolio. The academic advisor or academic supervisor will review and approve the application and certify it as international experience. Students who have completed the Global Scientists and Engineers Course and courses that certify qualify as international experience will automatically be certified as having international experience in their learning portfolio.
