Outlines

The Imperial-Tokyo Tech Global Fellows Programme 2024* will bring together doctoral students from Tokyo Tech and Imperial College London and offer an opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary collaborative work to find solutions to a global issue.


Under the academic theme 'Good health and Well-being' about 30 participants (15 from each institution) will work together for five days, designing solutions to achieve one of the United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals, ‘Good health and Well-being’.
Through group discussions, poster presentations, a field trip, etc., participants will develop leadership skills, interdisciplinary and intercultural awareness, and communication skills, and build networks essential for collaboration.

* The Global Fellows Programme is a doctoral student exchange program. It is based on the Global Fellows Program of Imperial College London, a Tokyo Tech partner university, and organized under liberal arts courses for doctoral students provided by Tokyo Tech’s Institute for Liberal Arts.

Applicants must:
・be doctoral students of Tokyo Tech
Note: Eligibility does not depend on nationality, affiliated department, or major. This program is not open to non-degree students.

"LAH.C617, Global Camp 1" two credits

Cost

1) Roundtrip airfare between Tokyo and London.

Participants will purchase their own tickets, so the cost may vary depending on the airline and ticket purchase dates.

Those receiving a stipend may use it to cover part or all of the cost of their airfare.

2) Enrollment in overseas travel insurance. The cost is approximately 5,000 yen.

3) Personal expenses.

Note: Meals (Breakfast and Lunch) and accommodation during the programme will be provided free of charge.

Scholarships

Participants may receive a stipend of approximately 80,000 yen to offset expenses.

Screening procedure

Applications will be reviewed and approved as appropriate. Those selected for the programme are expected to participate in the Predeparture Orientation. Details will be provided after programme selection is completed.
