Tokyo Tech Philippines Office

Tokyo Tech Philippines Office was established in September 2005 on the campus of De La Salle University, Manila.
Tokyo Tech has a long history of academic exchanges with Philippine universities, and many joint projects have been carried out. The activities of Tokyo Tech Philippines Office include support of academic exchanges, engagement of local Tokyo Tech alumni, organization of short-term study programs for Tokyo Tech students, and implementation of the Institute's public relations activities in the Philippines.

History

September 2005

Tokyo Tech Philippines Office was established in the capital of the Philippines, Manila. The office was Tokyo Tech's second overseas office after Tokyo Tech Thailand Office.
Professor Emeritus Hiroo Niiyama became the director of Tokyo Tech Philippines Office.

2006

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the normalization of Japan-Philippines diplomatic relations, the office conducted many events, including a field trip to the Philippines and Robot Exhibition.

April 2009

Professor Nobuaki Otsuki became the director of Tokyo Tech Philippines Office.

April 2013

Professor Hirofumi Hinode became the director of Tokyo Tech Philippines Office.

April 2017

Professor Shin-ya Nishizaki became the director of Tokyo Tech Philippines Office.
