Overview

Through AY 2019, Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) organized the Tokyo Tech Winter Program as a short-term inbound exchange program for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at overseas universities to pursue individual research projects under Tokyo Tech faculty supervision.

In light of the COVID-19 epidemic, Tokyo Tech relaunched the Winter Program in AY 2020 as Bringing Ideas in Remote Discussion (BIRD), a virtual exchange program for students from Tokyo Tech and The University of Melbourne. BIRD will be conducted for a second year in AY 2021.

Applications are now closed. The Next call for applications starts Oct., 2022.

Program Details

Participants in the AY 2021 program will

1.
increase their knowledge of technologies in mobility and logistics;
2.
enhance their problem-solving skills through group work with students from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines; and
3.
expand their academic and social networks.

Program Contents
-Lectures on technologies related to mobility and logistics (100 min. x 4 lectures)
-Icebreaking sessions, including short individual presentations by participants (100 min. x 2 sessions)
-Team project around the program theme (100 min. x 4 sessions)
-Final presentations

Certificate

A Certificate of Program Completion will be issued to each participant upon successful completion.
