Italian Ambassador to Japan Gianluigi Benedetti and Enrico Traversa, the Science & Technology Counselor of the Embassy of Italy in Tokyo visited Tokyo Tech on April 26, 2022 to meet with President Kazuya Masu, Provost and Executive Vice President for Institute Strategy Isao Satoh, Executive Vice President for research Osamu Watanabe and Vice President for International Affairs Nobuhiro Hayashi. On May 30, Vice President Tim White of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) visited Tokyo Tech and met with Vice President for International Affairs Nobuhiro Hayashi and Dean Jun-ichi Takata of School of Environmental and Society. After the meeting, they toured Hisao & Hiroko Taki Plaza. (May 30, 2022)
TJU Rector Dr. Bekir Sami Yilbas Visits Tokyo Tech Campuses
On June 2 and 3, a group of visitors led by Dr. Bekir Sami Yilbas, Rector (President) and professor of Turkish-Japanese Science and Technology University (TJU), toured Tokyo Tech campuses.
On the first day, they visited Suzukakedai Campus. The second day on Okayama Campus, the visitors met Tokyo Tech President Kazuya Masu, Provost and Executive Vice President for Institute Strategy Isao Satoh, and Vice President for International Affairs Nobuhiro Hayashi, and toured Okayama Campus. On June 21, a group of visitors led by Professor Justin Zobel, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Melbourne, toured Tokyo Tech. The visitors met Provost and Executive Vice President for Institute Strategy Isao Satoh, Executive Vice President for Education Jun-ichi Imura, Executive Vice President for Research Osamu Watanabe, and Vice President for International Affairs Nobuhiro Hayashi.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Zobel and Provost Isao Satoh exchanged souvenirs at the end of the meeting. During the visit, they toured the TSUBAME 3.0 supercomputer under the guidance of Professor Toshio Endo(Global Scientific Information and Computing Center). Professor Sandra Kentish(Head of School, Chemical & Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology), Professor Ampalavanapillai (Thas) Nirmalathas(Deputy Dean (Research), Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology) and Specially appointed professor Akinori Nishihara (Tokyo Tech Academy for Super Smart Society) also exchanged opinion. They met Professor Takehiko Murayama, Associate Professor Yuriko Sato (Both of School of Environment and Society), and Specially appointed associate professor Saho Kawashima (Center for International Education) for a brief meeting. Then the visitors exchanged views with the heads of the respective departments; Professor Kotaro Inoue (Dean, School of Engineering), Professor Mamoru Tanahashi (Deputy Dean, School of Engineering), Professor Hidetoshi Sekiguchi (Dean, School of Materials and Chemical Technology), Associate professor Shiro Yoshikawa(School of Materials and Chemical Technology), Professor Miki Saijo (School of Environment and Society) , Professor Masahiro Kuze (Dean, School of Science), Professor Tetusya Yokoyama (Associate Dean, School of Science), Assistant Professor Hidetoshi Masai (School of Science).
The visitors met Professor Manabu Ihara (School of Materials and Chemical Technology, Director of Tokyo Tech Academy of Energy and Informatics) to exchange opinions at Environmental Energy Innovation Building.
