A delegation led by United Arab Emirates's Minister of State for Public Education, H.E. Jameela Bint Salem Al Muhairi, and accompanied by that country's ambassador to Japan, H.E. Khaled Alameri, met with Executive Vice President Toshio Maruyama on October 24. Professor Junichi Takada and Associate Professor Naoya Abe of the School of Environment and Society also joined the meeting. After a brief introduction of Tokyo Tech made by EVP Maruyama, Professor Takada explained about GSEP, an international bachelor of engineering degree program, launched in April 2016.

While on campus, the ambassador met with Tokyo Tech President Yoshinao Mishima, Executive Vice President for Research Makoto Ando, and Professors Mitsuhiko Oi and Hiroyasu Horio of the Office of Research and Innovation.
