Tokyo Tech Festival 2014

Tokyo Tech Festival is a two-day event that fills the Ookayama Campus with excitement. Approximately 50,000 people attend the event every year including local residents, not to mention Tokyo Tech students and prospective students.

Various exhibits and presentations will be held in lecture rooms, and many food stands will be set up outside. Live music and stand-up comedy will be performed on the outdoor stage. In addition, lab walk-ins will be available for visitors to experience state-of-the-art science and technology.

Tokyo Tech Festival 2014 theme

Tokyo Tech Festival 2014 will be held on October 11 and 12. The theme of the festival for 2014 is "Re:Creation," which expresses the organizer's aim to improve upon past events (re-creation) and their hope to make the event enjoyable for visitors and participants (recreation).

Details of Tokyo Tech Festival 2014

As with past festivals, there will be a variety of student-planned activities at Tokyo Tech Festival 2014. Below are the details of the activities that will take place during the festival.

Tokyo Tech Festival 2014 Opening Event "Start Re:Creation"

Date and time: 10:15-10:45 a.m., Saturday, October 11
Place: Outdoor stage

An opening event on the outdoor stage will kick off the Tokyo Tech Festival. The chair of the festival committee will give an opening speech, and committee members will introduce their recommended activities. In addition, Tokyo Tech's original hand-held fans, which will have raffle numbers for your chance to win great prizes, will be offered to the first 300 visitors.

Every year, Tokyo Tech Festival invites a notable public figure for a lecture. This year, Mr. Takaaki Kidani, CEO of Bushiroad, Inc. will speak at the festival. Bushiroad has been boosting its market share of trading card games, which are very popular not only in Japan but also worldwide.

Mr. Kidani will talk about his ambition and the little-known trading card game business. Don't miss this rare opportunity to learn about the trading card industry!
