Engineering Schools Exchange Programs
Outlines
[Attention] Tokyo Tech sets guidelines for safe overseas study based on the "Travel Advice and Warnings" published on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' (MOFA) Overseas Safety website. Please note that the program may have to be shortened, postponed or totally cancelled.
In these programs, students are dispatched to laboratories at host institutions to conduct research for 2-3 months. Nominated students will be provided with a stipend to cover some expenses from Engineering School Funds
Eligibility
  • Students who are enrolled in a master's or doctoral degree program at the Engineering Schools (School of Engineering, School of Materials and Chemical Technology, and School of Environment and Society) (Working adult students are NOT eligible)
  • GPA 2.3 or above
  • TOEFL (iBT) 70 or above, TOEIC 650 or above
Selection
  • Screening by application documents
  • Interview in English(10 min: Presentation of Research plan and Q&A)

TAIST-Tokyo Tech Student Exchange Program in Thailand (AE)
Outlines
Due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, this program in 2020 will not be held.
In this program, students will attend a series of TAIST AE intensive lectures, and also participate in internships at the NSTDA.
Eligibility
The applicant must be a regular student of Tokyo Tech in year B4, M1, M2, or D1, D2, D3.
Venue
Suburbs of Bangkok, Thailand (NSTDA in Thailand Science Park)
Dates
12-30 days during the period from September 12, 2019 to March 22, 2020
Fees
Students who meet certain criteria may receive a scholarship for travel expenses.
Number of nominees
A total of 15 participant slots are available for this program.

TAIST-Tokyo Tech Student Exchange Program in Thailand (ICTES)
Outlines
Due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, this program in 2020 will not be held.
In this program, students will participate in classes for embedded systems, and join group work projects designed for Thai students in the first year of their master’s program.
Eligibility
The applicant must be a regular student of Tokyo Tech in year B3, B4, M1, M2, or D1, D2, D3.

 Georgia Institute of Technology Leadership Program

Georgia Institute of Technology Leadership Program 2019
Outlines
This program is made available as part of the Global Scientists and Engineers Course, and is intended for bachelor’s students in their third and fourth years as well as master’s students. Students can earn course credit by participating in this program. Set up with the main purpose of providing students with leadership training offered at Georgia Institute of Technology, the program will include lectures, workshops, and joint activities with local students.
Eligibility
The applicant must be a regular student of Tokyo Tech in year B3, B4, M1, M2. (For those who are interested in applying but do not meet eligibility, please contact GHRD office individually.)

Tokyo Tech-AYSEAS 2019
Outlines
Due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, AYSEAS 2020 will not be held. Information about AYSEAS 2021 will be posted on this page when details are available.
This program is a joint educational program organized annually by Tokyo Tech and partner universities to bring together students from universities in Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam. Through site visits, discussions, and communication with students from different backgrounds, AYSEAS participants learn about and experience the dynamism of rapidly growing Asian countries.
Eligibility
The applicant must be a regular student of Tokyo Tech in year B1, B2, B3, B4, M1, or M2.
