Imperial-Tokyo Tech Global Fellows Programme 2019 | ||

The Imperial-Tokyo Tech Global Fellows Programme 2019 will bring together doctoral students from Tokyo Tech and Imperial College London and offer an opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary collaborative work to find solutions to a global issue. About 40 participants (20 from each institution) will work together for five days, designing solutions to achieve one of the United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals, ‘Climate Action.’ Through group discussions, poster presentations, a field trip, etc., participants will develop leadership skills, interdisciplinary and intercultural awareness, and communication skills, and build networks essential for collaboration. Following the programme, Tokyo Tech participants who have made arrangements with an Imperial faculty member may remain in London at their own expense for an additional three-week research placement with a lab or group at the university. The 2019 AEARU Innovation `& Entrepreneurship Winter Program will be held in Taiwan, jointly hosted by National Taiwan University (NTU) and National Chiao Tung University (NCTU). In this intensive, one-week program, participants will gain insights on cross-cultural management and business development skills, while building professional networks with distinguished professors, scholars, and peers from around the world. They will attend lectures, participate in a corporate visit to Hsinchu Science Park, “The Silicon Valley of Taiwan,” and experience Chinese and Taiwanese culture through cultural events and city excursions. The 7th APRU Multi-Hazards Summer School will be held in Japan July 22 to 25 atTohoku University in collaboration with academic consortium AEARU*. This year's theme is “Supporting the interface between science and policy for decision making in disaster risk reduction (DRR).” Participants will understand the mechanism of international DRR strategy, learn from the experience and recovery process of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, learn from various DRR projects implemented in the Tohoku region and overseas, and discuss the roles of science, technology, and universities in the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. |

ASPIRE Form 2019 Student Workshop

Tokyo Tech will host "ASPIRE Forum 2019" in July at Tokyo Tech as a chair of the ASPIRE League. In conjunction with the annual forum, a student exchange program, "Student Workshop" will be held at Ookayama campus. Paticipants will attend lectures and participate in site visits on the theme "Better Living - Innovations and Technologies to Improve Lives." In teams comprised of student counterparts from ASPIRE League and IDEA League* member universities, participants will develop group presentations related to the workshop theme and deliver them to the ASPIRE League's Vice Presidents on the final day of the ASPIRE Forum. |

Fees
|
The full registration fees are £500 but the majority of students will receive partial bursaries. The registration fees include: access to sessions, networking and social events, accomodation for 3 nights, all meals for the duration, transportaion from provided accomodation to the venue and conference kit.

Applications are reviewed continuously and invitaions are sent out up until May and will stop accepting applications once the limit is reached.
