IDEA League

IDEA League Summer School
Outline

Tokyo Tech students are invited to participate in Summer Schools organized by five member universities of the IDEA League. Please note that after applicant interviews conducted in English, Tokyo Tech will nominate one student to participate in each Summer School, and final selection will be made by the host university. These Summer Schools are conducted for students of the IDEA League member universities, and the ASPIRE League, in which Tokyo Tech is a member university, was invited to send its students as part of ongoing collaboration between the two Leagues.

Graduate or Doctorate student at Tokyo Tech
(For the Summer School at Politecnico di Milano and Chalmers Unversity, only PhD students are eligible.)

Fees

Participant Student is responsible for airfare, insurance fee, local transportation fee, and other personal expenses. *There are no participation fees. The host university will provide accommodation for students. *A stipend to cover some expenses may be provided by Tokyo Tech.In the case of international students, only privately-funded, degree-seeking students are eligible to receive the stipend.

IDEA League Doctoral School on Transiently Powered Computing
Outlines

The IDEA League invites applications for the Doctoral School on Transiently Powered Computing organized by Delft University of Technology. Bringing together students from IDEA League and ASPIRE League member universities, the aim of this 3-day conference is to survey fundamental and applied aspects of systems operating over time-varying and unpredictable energy sources, as well as to identify novel opportunities and research directions in this area through lectures by international experts. Participants will experience relevant technologies during hands-on hackathons and present their own work during a poster session. The school will provide participants with a great opportunity to meet distinguished scholars from around the world and to establish contacts that may lead to research collaborations in the future.

Fees

TU Delft will cover the participation fee and provide accommodations, meals (excluding breakfast) and social activities during the program. Participants are responsible for their own travel insurance, airfare, local transportation, and personal expenses. (A stipend to cover some expenses shall be provided by Tokyo Tech. In the case of international students, only those who are privately-funded and enrolled in degree programs are eligible for the stipend.)

Partner Universities Summer Program

ETH Zurich Student Summer Research Fellowship in Computer Science
Outline

The Computer Science Department at ETH Zurich offers a fellowship program that allows master’s and 4th year undergraduate students to obtain research experience at ETH Zurich, a Tokyo Tech partner university, during the summer months. Fellows will pursue a research project that aligns with a chosen area of their interest as part of a research group in the Computer Science Department. (Please refer the program’s web page for information about the seven research groups.)

4th year undergraduate students and graduate students in master’s courses

ETH Zurich (Computer Science Department), the Switzerland
Dates
10-12 weeks in summer 2017 (June to August)
Fees

1. A monthly stipend of CHF 1,750 to cover housing and living expenses will be provided by ETH Zurich. Travel and visa expenses will be covered. Students can claim the travel costs against receipts at the beginning of the program.
2. ETH Zurich will provide those accepted to the program with information regarding visa applications (where required) as well as assistance with finding affordable accommodation during the summer research stay.
