Outline
|
Due to the world-wide restrictions concerning Covid-19 and in order to protect the participants and lectures, these Summer Schools are offered in an online format this year. Tokyo Tech students are invited to participate in Summer Schools organized by IDEA League. These Summer Schools are conducted for students of the IDEA League member universities, and the ASPIRE League, in which Tokyo Tech is a member university, is annually invited to send its students as part of ongoing collaboration between the two Leagues. |

1) Nominations will be based on document screening. However, if there are multiple applicants for the same Summer School(s), online interviews will be held in the third week of June for I. and in the third week of July for Ⅱ. Ⅲ. Ⅳ. Please note that after the nomination from Tokyo Tech, the final selection will be made by the host university.2) The individual course schedules will be determined once all participants have been selected. |

The IDEA League*1 has invited nominations from ASPIRE League*2 member universities, including Tokyo Tech, for participants for the Doctoral School on Ethics of Science and Technology. Focused on developing critical awareness about the values that are embedded in science and technology throughout the lifecycle – from design to development, and management, control, production, adoption and use – the Doctoral School is organized around 3 main themes: responsibility, values and governance. *1 A consortium of leading European universities of science and technology and is comprised of RWTH Aachen University in Germany, Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands, ETH Zurich in Switzerland, Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, and University Politecnico di Milano in Italy. *2 A consortium established in 2009 consisting of 5 world-leading technical universities in Asia: The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, KAIST, Nanyang Technological University, Tsinghua University, and Tokyo Institute of Technology. |

Partner Universities Summer Program
ETH Zurich Student Summer Research Fellowship in Computer Science

The Computer Science Department at ETH Zurich offers a fellowship program that allows master’s and 4th year undergraduate students to obtain research experience at ETH Zurich, a Tokyo Tech partner university, during the summer months. Fellows will pursue a research project that aligns with a chosen area of their interest as part of a research group in the Computer Science Department. (Please refer the program’s web page for information about the seven research groups.) |

1. A monthly stipend of CHF 1,750 to cover housing and living expenses will be provided by ETH Zurich. Travel and visa expenses will be covered. Students can claim the travel costs against receipts at the beginning of the program. |
