Homecoming Day 2016 will be held on Saturday, May 21 at Ookayama Campus.
Homecoming Day is an annual event designed to bring the whole Tokyo Tech community together. On this day each year, Tokyo Tech opens its doors to alumni, current students, and members of the local community. Faculty members and students plan various events to ensure a pleasant day for all campus visitors including elementary, middle, and high school students. Homecoming Day is an opportunity to encourage everyone to strengthen ties, promote exchanges, and discover more about the Institute.
Please note that events are primarily in Japanese and simultaneous interpretation is not available.
Following the implementation of a new education system in April 2016, the introduction of Tokyo Tech's six new Schools will take place on Homecoming Day. Visitors will witness the extensive innovation in progress at Tokyo Tech.
Various events will take place at Tokyo Tech Lecture Theatre and the renewed 1st floor of Centennial Hall. Visitors are invited to explore the well-furnished libraries and world-renowned TSUBAME supercomputer. Students will also be welcoming visitors with exhibits, live performances, and various event tents.
Departmental alumni associations will hold lectures on specialized fields including ink painting performance.
Magic Class, an experiment-filled lecture series for high school students, was well-received last year and will come back to Homecoming Day. This year's themes are titled "Relativity theory crucial for GPS" and "Do you like putting on makeup?" As last year, Magic Class lectures will be held at Tokyo Tech Lecture Theatre and are highly recommended for prospective students.
In previous years, Homecoming Day was held at both Ookayama and Suzukakedai Campuses. In 2016, the event will take place at Ookayama Campus only. Suzukake Festival and Open Campus will be held at Suzukakedai Campus as in the past.
The Tokyo Tech community looks forward to seeing you at Homecoming Day 2016.
